Making it BIG!

Continued Success for Falmouth's Graduates

Falmouth Animation & VFX graduates Mads Ogaard and Katie Wyman are unstoppable! Their film 'I am Dyslexic' has made it to the top, with another win the Royal Television Society Awards at London's Southbank this month.

Earlier in the year the film won the Best Student Animation Award at the regional finals which put them in the running for the National Finals. Not only did Falmouth win that award, but we also bagged the Craft Award for Best Production Design with Leo Isaacs and Jack Ghigo's film 'Falling in Love'

Jack, Leo & Mads at the Regional Finals

At this year's National Awards 'I am Dyslexic' was up against some tough competition - but quality will out as they say, and indeed it did! Katie and Mads took the award for Best Production Design - another win to add to their long list of successes. The Royal Television Society National Awards are a recognition of work of the highest standard and is a phenomenal achievement for all those shortlisted. Both Mads and Katie were understandably excited to be at the awards, and blown away to win. The whole course team are hugely proud of their achievements, and prouder still that this award places them in the top tier of young creatives in the UK.

High Five Katie!

I am Dyslexic has won awards, special mentions, plaudits and accolades in over twenty film festivals all over the world, but picking up the RTS Production Design at the national finals is certainly their crowning achievement, to date.

Success continues for Leo and Jack as well. 'Falling in Love' was screened at the Plymouth Film Festival and the Arizona International Film Festival. It was also shortlisted for the LA Student BAFTAs for Best Animation - one of only a handful of British films to make it on to the list. Getting a nomination at this level is yet another testament to the quality of the work produced by the graduates from the course.
