Delighted to welcome back our graduates to talk to current students about how they successfully made the leap, from student to industry professional, at top animation & visual effects companies across the globe. We had an international flavor to the panel this year, with 2 graduates flying over from Vancouver, Canada.

On the panel were:

Sebastian now lives and works in London but has fond memories of Falmouth and was delighted to be invited back to inspire our current students,

“Falmouth was the perfect place for me to acquire the skills needed to become a visual effects artist. They have all the tools, support and motivation you could wish for in a nice and friendly environment.”

Matteo Veglia and Ben Wardle flew over from Vancouver, Canada. Ben Wardle is a production coordinator at MPC, Vancouver. He is thoroughly enjoying life over in Canada. He has sea views from his apartment, a 3 minute walk to work and an abundance of cheap sushi!

Matteo Veglia also gave a guest lecture on behind the scenes at MPC. He has recently coordinated feature film FX for Ghostbusters, Sully and Independence Day 2. He shared insights about workflow and the different departments that go into making feature film visual effects, from previz right through to compositing. He coordinates a team that provide the FX, such as exploding debris and dust.

Rosa Mulraney hosts the Q & A Panel

Andy Fossey is from our first graduating cohort and he was delighted to return to campus for a trip down memory lane. Andy was impressed with the newly expanded studio space, kit and atmosphere. Andy works as a freelance character animator for Aardman and shared his top tips on how to get and keep work and build your reputation.
